A key event within Project Hammer is the annual Project Hammer Trip which involves house building and fact-finding mission to Cambodia at participants’ personal cost. A group of volunteers – who actively participated with fundraising and organising – are spending 4 days to build homes and visit supported Non-Government Organisation (NGO). Last trip a total of 12 houses were build for Cambodian underprivileged families and the appointed NGOs visited. This forms an essential part of Project Hammer: to experience hands-on the spending and effectuation of the funds raised on behalf of our many sponsors.

Project Hammer Fund Raising Dinner

On Friday, 26 August, the Project Hammer Fund Raising Dinner will take place in Singapore and will be co-organised and hosted by the InterContinental Singapore. The 2011 dinner promises to be a wonderful gastronomic fun-filled networking event with great entertainment and live auctions. This year Phymean Noun from People Improvement Organisation (PIO) will be sharing her story and remarkable insight of Cambodia. Seat ticket price is Sin$250.00 and tables are for sale at Sin$2,500.00.

New Hope for Cambodian Children (NHCC)

In March of 2006, John and Kathy Tucker and their senior staff from the ‘Little Sprouts” program founded “New Hope for Cambodian Children” (NHCC) to continue and expand the assistance for children with HIV/AIDS living in Cambodia. NHCC is a Cambodian non- governmental organization (NGO) registered with the Royal Government of Cambodia. The Mission of New Hope for Cambodian Children (NHCC) is to work with NGOs and the Royal Government of Cambodia to assist children living with HIV/AIDS and their families.

AFESIP

Acting for Women in Distressing Situations (AFESIP) exists to combat trafficking in women and children for sex slavery; to care for and rehabilitate those rescued from sex slavery; to provide occupational skills and to reintegrate those rescued into the community in a sustainable and innovative manner. AFESIP also seeks to combat the causes and effects of trafficking and sex slavery through outreach work in AIDS prevention; through advocacy and campaigning; through representation and participation in women’s issues at national, regional and international forums.

Sok Sabay

The purpose of the Sok Sabay Shelter and Long Term Education Program is to rescue children from various social hells such as mistreatment, abandonment, rape, torture and slavery and provide an alternative caring and stable living environment in which to grow and learn. Welcome to Project Hammer

Project Hammer was initiated by a group of IHG colleagues and friends bound by a desire to help and share their time and energy to provide assistance to underprivileged communities in Cambodia. Since its creation in 2006, Project Hammer’s volunteers have built houses and provided financial assistance to various community projects in Phnom Penh.

More than the houses this outreach program has helped to build, Project Hammer has brought countless smiles and a chance for brighter futures for the children and families who have benefited from its assistance.
